I completed my PhD in the Brain and Cognitive Sciences cluster of the psychology department at Temple University. Prior to my work in health research, I was very active in the cognitive science of problem solving and creativity. Along the way, I began teaching statistics courses, first to undergraduates, and then to graduate students. I found that my true love was with numbers and data. I was given the opportunity to be statistical consultant to the Jefferson Center for Interprofessional Practice and Education (JCIPE) in 2017, and in 2020, I was appointed Director of Assessment, Evaluation, and Research for the Center. I then began teaching in the College of Population Health, first covering patient-reported outcomes research and psychometrics, and then taking over all of the advanced statistics courses. In 2022, I became part time Director of the PhD Program in Population Health Science, and in January 2023, I became Director of the Masters in Health Data Science program as well, attaining the rank of Associate Professor in the process. My journey has taught me that quantitative expertise and a rigorous scientific focus on measurement are key to all areas of research, and I am thrilled to be making an impact on the health and wellness of others.
